Our Mission:
Phantom Chorus Theatre is a grass-roots non-profit theatre company specializing in collaborative, experimental, original works or adaptations. Through the mediums of puppetry, movement, music, and multimedia we strive to harness the power of imagination – to make the impossible real. With a focus on accessibility and community outreach, our aim is to bring a unique theatrical experience to a wide audience.
Co-artistic directors Thalia Kostman and Marc Berg have been collaborators since 2016. Having worked together on a variety of projects – and sharing a passion for puppetry, movement, and mask – they decided to form Phantom Chorus Theatre as a way to foster not only their own artistic voices, but the voices of their fellow company members and collaborators.
Co-artistic director Thalia Kostman has been a performer and creator in the Twin Cities theatre community since 2012. She studied physical theatre and mime at Macalester College and Studio Magenia in Paris. Thalia has coordinated Brooklyn Center Community Center’s Puppet Playhouse since 2012, and is assistant director for American Immersion Theater’s Minneapolis Troupe. She co-created Cecilies with Jeesun Choi at Red Eye’s Works In Progress series, has produced shows at the MN Fringe Festival, and performs original mime acts with the Twin Cities Clown Cabaret.
Co-artistic director Marc Berg has been working as a theatrical designer, director, and performer in the Twin Cities since 2011. He studied Theatre Arts at UW-River Falls and Graphic Design at MCTC. He has worked with Mad Munchkin Productions off and on since 2013. He was assistant director at The Matchbox Theater where he directed, designed, and performed in Razia’s Shadow: A Puppet Rock Opera. He taught theatre and art at Twin Cities elementary schools, and is an instructor for Adventures in Cardboard summer youth camp.
Admin and marketing advisor and perfomer Alex Yang has performed with Heart of the Beast, Bedlam, and Mad Munchkin Productions, and does administrative work for Mixed Precipitation and BestPrep.
Co-Music Director Rhiannon Fiskradatz is a renaissance woman operating in multiple artistic disciplines. She writes and performs her own music as MaMa Faeirie, performs with a variety of theatre/puppetry troupes, manages a teen choir for VocalEssence, is a master maker of several handcrafts and costumes entertainers and productions of all sorts.
Director of digital media and outreach coordinator Aaron Fiskradatz is a theatre artist, educator, and technician who works daily with people of all ages and abilities, from birth to retirement, with and without disabilities. His work with organizations such as Upstream Arts and Park Square Theater has been recognized on a national level.
Co-Music Director Steven Zubich is a pianist and composer who is a faculty member at MacPhail in Minneapolis. He is the Managing Director for the Northern Lights Music Festival which produces 4 opera performances and 20 chamber music recitals every July.
Performer and marketing advisor Josh Vogen has been a professional in the Twin Cities theater community since graduating from St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Theatre in 2007. He has worked with a variety of theater companies including Swandive Theater Co, Gonzo Theater Co, Mad Munchkin Productions and many others. He is proud to be a member of Phantom Chorus Theatre and excited to create and perform with this amazing group of artists!
Performer and advisor Cheryl Yakacki began acting only a few years ago, but really hit the ground running. She has danced her whole life, grew up in a very musical family, had been involved in a small dance company “Collectivus Dance.” Cheryl spent 15 years teaching/entertaining toddlers and has always been quite the ham. She is now performing at the Dinner Detective, performed in PCT’s “Victor Invictus,” and directed and performed for PCT’s CHROMA.
Performer and advisor Kristina Jasons received her BA in Dance from the University of Akron in 2010. She spent her early career teaching and choreographing for numerous outreach programs, dance companies, and public school programs, including Pointe West Performances, Akron After School, Reach Out And Dance, and the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet. She has performed for Verb Ballets, the Pointillism Jazz Consort, and various community plays and projects. Kristina has dabbled outside of the dance world and also enjoys working in film and theater. She joined the Phantom Chorus Theatre as an understudy for Bellerophon’s Shadow and performer for Victor Invictus.
Performer and advisor Thomas M Buan is a theatre artist currently living in scenic Uptown Minneapolis. Thomas’ performed in Phantom Chorus’ “Victor Invictus at TCHF and directed one of the scenes in CHROMA in 2023. Other recent favorite appearances include Who’s Afraid of Winnie The Pooh and A Bear: An Absurd Musical with Clevername Theatre and Circle Mirror Transformation at Theatre in the Round.
Dramaturg and fight choreographer Dylan Phoenix Kostman is a comparative martial artist, who’s studies focus on historical fighting arts and martial cultures. A full time sword fighter since 2017, he coaches part time at Center for Blade Arts and has achieved mentor certification to teach first level broadsword under the Cataran Society.
Technical director Brian Bishop is a life long lover of stories with decades of experience in shared storytelling, and is looking forward to turning dreams into a reality.
Writer and advisor Mahmoud Hakima has been an active member of the Twin Cities performance community since moving here in 2001. He has contributed his talents as an actor, storyteller, improviser, puppeteer, poet, songwriter, director, producer, coach and all-around good Samaritan. When not working full-time as head of security at Minnesota Children’s Museum, he can regularly be seen performing at Dinner Detectives, Double Blind Improv and Legends Improv Theater, with occasional appearances at Huge Theater and Strike Theater.
Performer and advisor Andrew Rosdail is an actor, playwright, and occasional director currently residing in Minneapolis. He most recently was seen in this year’s Minnesota Fringe Festival show “Neil Gaiman’s the Wedding Present” with Lampstand of the Covenant and directed the Golden Lanyard-winning show “Peace Retreat” with New Endeavors. Andrew is also a member of the Murder Mystery Company, where he dies regularly.
Performer and advisor Lindsey Oetken is excited to return to the Twin Cities Theatre scene, working with Phantom Chorus Theatre! She recently received her MFA in Acting from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Before grad school, she toured nationally with the Missoula Children’s Theatre as a Tour Actor/Director. Locally, she has been involved with Theatre Midwest, Iowa Stage, Theatre in the Round, Minneapolis Musical Theatre and several others.
